FAQs
What should I expect at the first session?
This will be a chance for us to get to know each other and for me to hear about your concerns. I will explain my approach to the work and give you a chance to ask me questions. We can discuss how you want to go forward and whether you want to come for more sessions or not. We can decide together during an initial phone call who should come to that first session.
How long is a session?
Each session is usually an hour and we can meet weekly, fortnightly or monthly depending on what will be most appropriate. For some people, just a few sessions will be enough while others will decide they want to come for longer. Review sessions are very common as are “checking-in” sessions after a longer break.
Are the sessions confidential?
Confidentiality is very important to me and to the therapy process. However, if I have fears about your safety or the safety of someone else, I may need to share information with other professionals in line with safeguarding regulations. I will always try to ask for your consent and discuss this with you before I do this.
Where do I come for my session?
I work in a comfortable and confidential room in the centre of Lewes, above the Con (Constitutional) Club and next to the Lewes Old Grammar School.
